Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with several awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. She began her career as an actress on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Passionate about acting since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. She became deaf in one ear due to Mumps, but she didn't allow this handicap to hinder her desire to be an actor. In college she studied theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. After a casual encounter, she got stuck in an elevator alongside the playwright Beth Henley and the two worked together on the Broadway Crimes of the Heart and made Hunter's debut. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find films to play. The role of a supporting actress was secured for Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in a number of films, TV series and movies over the course of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
